Optimal Learning : A Practical Guide For Teachers encourages young learners to collaborate, reflect, ask questions, make links and think creatively.
The authors, Lee Pace and David Anderson are experienced primary practitioners who strive to make learning fun, accessible and permanent. In addition to their full-time teaching careers they also deliver local authority training in Staffordshire.
Lee graduated in law before training as a teacher and is now Deputy Headteacher at James Bateman Junior High School in Staffordshire. Dave must have one of the most varied CV’s of any Primary school teacher; trainee butcher, coal miner, a cistern lid painter and flush tester at Armitage Shanks, telephone salesperson; youth worker, welder’s mate, care/teaching aide, and barman before going back to college to train as a teacher. Dave now teaches at St Christopher’s RC Primary school in Wolverhampton – his “dream job”.
Together, Lee and Dave have developed a wealth of practical strategies to promote, nurture and enhance the learning opportunities of the youngsters in their care.
